Neuralink has been approved for human trials and is looking to recruit paralysed volunteers. The company is particularly interested in people suffering from spinal column injuries and the deadly motor neuron disease ALS. Just a day after Neuralink was approved to start the trials, an investigation by Wired found as many as a dozen macaque monkeys suffered chronic infections, paralysis, and other horror side effects after receiving the chip. They eventually had to be euthanised as a result.
