A Monroe trooper was placed on leave Sunday following an off-duty driving DWI arrest. The driver was identified as 33-year-old David Hamm of Rayville. Hamm has been employed with LSP since 2014.

Former LSP Troopers Kory York, John Clary, Dakota Demoss, former Troop F commander John Peters and former Union Parish Sheriff have pleaded not guilty. Ronald Greene was brutally beaten and died during a State Police arrest shortly after midnight on May 10, 2019. Greene originally failed to pull over for an unspecified traffic violation about 30 miles south of the Arkansas state line.

On Saturday around 5 p.m. Haughton Police were taken on a pursuit when officers attempted to pull over Jason Michael Mattingly Jr., 31, who police say had outstanding felony warrants for domestic abuse battery.

John Crow, 36, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, was pronounced dead at the scene. LSP said that around 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, Crow was traveling westbound on I-10 near LA 1090 in a Chevrolet Ambulance. At the same time, a Volvo Straight Box Truck was also traveling Westbound in front of Crow. For reasons still under investigation, Crow struck the rear of the Volvo.

Coushatta man dies after tractor-trailer crashes into vehicle in Desoto ParishDESOTO PARISH, La. (KSLA) -According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), a man failed to yield and a tractor-trailer struck his vehicle. On New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, around 2 p.m., LSP was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on LA Highway 177 at LA Highway 510. When troopers arrived they discovered that a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Walter Johnson, 95, was stopped on LA Highway 510, waiting to make a left turn onto LA Highway 177. At the same time a 2013 Western Star tractor-trailer was traveling on LA Highway 177. Johnson failed to yield and was struck by the tractor-trailer.
